Geralyn B Little

September 19, 1941 — November 4, 2023

Tetonia

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Geralyn Burnside Little, passed away on November 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.

Geralyn was born to George Vernon Burnside and Elda Elizabeth Casper on September 19, 1941 in Driggs, Idaho.

As a child, Geralyn was taught how to work. Among other chores, she grew up mowing the lawn, helping with the laundry, tending to the chickens, and milking the cow. She also enjoyed a playful childhood, including many ball games and card games with friends and family.

Geralyn met her husband, joseph Ross Little in the 3rd grade, but it wasn’t until they reconnected in high school that their love story began. Geralyn and Joe were married on May 14, 1958 in Driggs and were married 32 years. After marrying, they made their first home in Conrad, Montana. Geralyn and Joe went on to have five children: Jeanenne Rae, Jeffery Rex, Jacqueline Gay, Jerry Blaine, and Joseph Scott. They moved a few times within Montana and Idaho before finally choosing to settle their family in Tetonia. Joe and Geralyn loved to travel via motorcycle and enjoyed doing that many times throughout their marriage. Joe passed away in 1990 after struggling with illness for two years.

Her work ethic being instilled at a young age, Geralyn invested many years of her life at various places of employment. Milking cows, Commons Poultry, The Parkway Hotel, Grand Targhee, The Tetonia Store, Tetonia Elementary, Penfold Farms, Teton Valley Hospital, babysitting the grandchildren she adored and more – Geralyn was happy to work hard and she made a difference in many lives. In addition, she was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and it was a very important part of her life and the person she was. She dedicated years of her life to serving others, as she served and taught the children and the women in her Tetonia ward various capacities throughout her life.

One of Geralyn’s favorite things to do was to make a pie or cinnamon rolls, and take them out to her sons as they worked on the dry farms, and ride with them on the combine.

Geralyn is survived by four of her children: Jeanenne (Terry) Bridges, Jackie (Jeff) Childress, Jerry (Linda) Little, Scott (Jackie) Little: as well as her siblings Ronald Burnside, Nancy Barker, Denzel Burnside, and Ronda Moss. She has 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, son Jeff, brothers Glade and Dell Ray, step-brothers Douglas and Vern, and son-in-law Terry Bridges.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 9th at 11 am at the Tetonia LDS church, with Bishop Sean Moulton conducting. Family will receive friend Wednesday, November 8th from 5-7 pm and again on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:45. Interment will be at the Cache Clawson Cemetery.
