Christopher Runyan

Christopher Cody Robert Runyan was born on August 31st, 1983. He was a staple in this community. He was best known as a cowboy, real estate agent, snowmobiler, and father.

Chris grew up in Alta, WY having an adventures with his family and constantly spending time outdoors.

Throughout elementary, middle school, high school, and college he was known for his kindness and outrageous sense of humor. During his high school years he participated in talent shows, rodeos, football and hunting. Chris was absolutely fearless and was always going 100 miles per hour.

Smooth talking was something that came to him naturally, along with his charm and sweet demeanor.
His middle school sweetheart Candyce Briggs married him on June 6th, 2006. They had two beautiful daughters, Reece and Paisley. While their marriage came to an end, their friendship did not. Candyce later had a son; although not blood related to Chris, he was still treated like family.

He loved Teton Valley, and as a broker and owner of Alta Realty, he convinced many buyers that their piece of the dream was worth the listing price.

Chris was preceded in death by both his parents, Kathy and Cody. He is survived by his brother Josh, his sister Katrina, and his daughters Reece and Paisley.

Chris and his oldest daughter Reece were best friends until the end. Chris taught Reece many things such as riding horses, dirt bikes, and snowmobiling, which they especially loved. They would spend hours at a time riding in the fields, preparing Reece to race SnowCross, and making Reece the great rider that she is today.

Chris was very proud of his youngest daughter Paisley, watching her accomplish many gymnastics competitions, and maintain good grades. Chris would take Paisley out every Tuesday for a daddy-daughter date and picked her up from school everyday as well.

Known throughout his life for his theatrical and fun loving nature, Chris had many lifelong friends. He knew Teton Valley and the people within it like the back of his hand.

Chris unfortunately passed away in his home in Tetonia, on Thursday October 26th, 2023. He will never be forgotten, and the people of this Valley will always hold a special place for him in their hearts.

A service will be held Saturday, November 4th 12:00 PM at the Driggs Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:30 AM before the funeral.
