Brad Hill

We were blessed to learn many lessons from Brad during his 52 years. Among them are "Beware of the witch hazels", "Always make sure your horses are faster than a bear!" And “When in doubt, floor it!” If you've ever heard any of these you probably spent some quality time laughing with Brad around a campfire.

Brad Gaylen Hill was born on June 9, 1969 to Gaylen and Nora Hill. As a young man, Brad was raised in Teton Valley, Idaho and treated it as if it was his own wild west. He was an avid outdoorsman, horseman and hunter. He enjoyed wrestling in high school and raising a little hell with his friends. He married the love of his life, Susan, on November 24, 1989. They went on to have two children who he loved with all his heart.

Brad had a strong bond with his horses. He took great pride in his speed racking horses and was an excellent breeder and trainer. His talent for this is perfectly displayed through his most prized stallion, Winston. If he wasn't on the back of a horse, he might be found perfecting his logwork and carpentry trade. As a hard-working craftsman his skills can be seen in many residences and businesses throughout the Teton Valley and beyond.

Horses were not Brads only pride and joy. He deeply loved his family and enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with them. Together they ventured on many horseback rides to Crystal Lake, hunting trips, and camping trips filled with campfire stories. In recent years he became a proud "Bampa" to Harrison and Max. He taught them many valuable skills from driving the truck, riding the horses, and unwrapping those tricky tootsie pop wrappers.

There are friends, there is family, and there are friends that become family. Brad took this lesson to heart and you were cherished deeply if you were a friend to Brad.

Brad is survived by his wife, Susan Hill; his daughter, Mandy Tapangco (Jordan Tapangco); his son, Dylan Hill (Kenedee Moon); grandsons Harrison Tapangco and Max Brown, his mother, Nora Rigby; sister, Michelle Cain; brothers, Bret Hill, Jared Hill and Kipp Hill. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylen Hill.

Join us to celebrate Brad’s life on Saturday, July 31st at the Tetonia LDS church. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am with the Memorial Service to follow at 11.

At the conclusion of the memorial, Brad will take his final ride to the Cache Clawson Cemetery on his favorite horse. Anyone who’d like to ride their horses with him one last time is welcome to join.
