Aaron graduated from Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp, Cal. In 1988, where he lived in the Angels Camp and Murphys area from birth until 1997 when he moved to Victor to join his family.
He was a avid and accomplished outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and then preparing his catch by smoking and curing to share with others. Aaron loved to cook with his mother for family and friends.
From his early twenties, he traveled the U.S. working construction for several companies as a heavy crane operator. He was one of 56 operators in the U.S. to have a license to operate a manitowac 2250, which had a lifting capacity of 600 tons. Aaron was especially proud of his excellent record of never dropping a "lift" or having an accident. He built wind farms, power plants, fuel refineries and many mining sites in more than 10 states over his career.
Aaron is survived by his mother Roxanne Sanchez and father Tom Schachten of Victor, Idaho; sister Staci Sanchez of Tetonia, Idaho; aunt and uncle Herb and Bryanna Jasper of Willow Ranch, California; cousin Brett Jasper of New Pine Creek, Oregon and cousin Gina Abbe of Riley, Oregon.
"DBLAA" will be greatly missed, as well, by and extended family of co-workers who were a supportive and loyal team he was proud to be a part of for many years.
Services and burial will be held in the spring on the Jasper Ranch in Willow Ranch, California.
God had bigger plans for DBLAA to continue to do "blg lifts" in heaven in order to pave the way for us and others.
In lieu of flowers send photos to the family at P.O. Box 714, Victor, Idaho 83455.
